KARAOKE EVENING
🎁 Whitney Field Depot is decorated for the holidays, including multiple Christmas trees (plastic) and multicolored tinsel and evergreen boughs (plastic) hanging from every surface.
🎁 The Travelling Lantern Theatre Company stages Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol in the afternoon, starring Edgar de Leon as Scrooge, Blythe Ferry as the Ghost of Christmas Past, and Evening O'Leary as Tiny Tim. As their costume designer has been out of commission, this show incorporates random costumes from past productions, including Blade Runner and Star Trek, giving it a surreal sci-fi feel.
🎁 The theater troupe takes over the Lobby for Karaoke Evening, named not because it happens in the evening but because it's in honor of Evening's birthday! The one rule is that it's pairs or trios only on stage, for maximum meetcute potential. If you don't have someone to sing with, they'll assign a partner to you.
🎁 If you'd like to give Evening a birthday present, there's a table set aside for offerings. A sealed box has a sign reading: "Accepting secrets as gifts." Next to it is a pen and pad of paper, if you'd like to deposit an anonymous note into the box.
🎁 At approximately 8:30 PM, just as [Volunteer A] takes the stage to sing, all of the lights in the stadium abruptly turn on. Power is running to the Depot at long last! Aholiday birthday miracle! [Volunteer B] is corralled into fetching Christmas lights out of storage and helping string them up around the Lobby.
