Hey man.

I just wanted to let you know that Crystal and I are going to invite Maggie Son to come do Responder training at Prescott.

I know you're trying to do the whole self-sufficient thing over there and I respect that, but if you guys aren't going to be reaching out to us for this kind of thing I think it would be good for someone there to know how we'd be handling things.

I didn't want you to think we were trying to poach her or anything.

I don't think Crystal's brought it up to her yet so let me know what you think.

Don't really know that you need my blessing for this. It sounds like people are going to be moving around. Maggie will decide where Maggie wants to be.

JEM

I don't need it, but I'd like to have it.

ROSWELL

Don't ask me how I'm holding up. I'm sick of it.

JEM

I wasn't going to, but this raises questions.

ROSWELL

Why? Besides, you're awake too.

JEM

First of all, bad example.

But if you don't want people asking up about you then you gotta get it together, man.

ROSWELL

I don't know how I could have it any more together than I do.

Nothing happened to me. I did something. But everyone's handling me with kid gloves and treating me like... I don't know. I'm twelve years old and my cat died while I was away at sleepaway camp and nobody has the heart to tell me. It's making me insane.

JEM, ALOUD: "Ah, jeez."

ROSWELL

I'd be doing better if people would just level with me.

JEM

You want me to level with you?

ROSWELL

Yeah, I do.

JEM

Something did happen to you. You made a mistake.

And it just happens. Celia's first week on the job she made a mistake that cost 20 lives. That kept her up at night until she died too.

The important thing is you realized it. You coulda said "I make the decisions, and this is just how it's gonna be. If anyone wants to disagree with me we can dig another grave." But you didn't.

I'm not going to tell you to stop beating yourself up about it, but maybe don't bite people's heads off when they don't want to beat you up about it either. I think that's what people are keying into.
