We've got some new chicks. Let me know if you want to see 'em.

Some of them are silkies, so they're extra cute.

Hi there. I'm Emmett, Lundegaard's livestock guy. Since we're all helping each other out and all, thought I'd offer to come check out your stables. I'm not a vet, but I've got some farrier training, so I can take a look at hooves, too.

Just figured I'd offer. No pressure, though. Thanks for your time.

My thoughts are actually quite turbulent. I have trouble with appropriate facial expression.

[…] Emmett, it aggrieves me to say this, but if you continue down this path, the outcome will be disastrous for your health. Your body needs more consecutive hours of sleep to recover, not aggregate hours. I was told this while hospitalized.

I feel like they're going to have some elaborate human-sized mouse trap situation set up for me when I get there.

Please. Neither are we. There's some entrances near grass that might be good.

I get by.

Not everyone needs 8. But perhaps more than 2.

But I am also not here to tell you how much you should be sleeping. I am here to ask you for your permission to help at the barn, so I am useful when I am keeping my hip warm and limber. What exactly can I do?

It would not be. Although that place is kind of a death trap on its own. [...] I'm sure 20 adults can take care of some chickens, though.

Chickens aren't fussy. [...] Well, they are, but they're easy to take care of.

I hope it's warm enough for them over there. Maybe I should take a heater.

Fussy's a good personality. We'll get along fine.

I would never give away Hot Wheels without consulting you first.

Stiff muscles and cold aggravate my condition the most, so the more active the work the better. I like a bit of sweat. When we were building Lundegaard, I felt my best. Paradoxically, now we are done, my condition has been deteriorating.

Yes, if they are making lye, I would take some.

Prescott has offered me the opportunity to come do some responder training and I think it would be good for me to take them up on it, so I will have less time.

If this is what you need. I don’t wish to make work for you. And it goes without saying I will stay out of your way. I understand there is a certain pleasure to be taken from working in solitude, and I would not begrudge you that.

I could not handle his big sad eyes.

You should pick the chickens out for them and decide how many. I probably should've asked you first but I figured... y'know.

I understand. […] It is my constant fear that my presence is a burden. […] I also like you. So that is good.

Then yes. This sounds mutually beneficial to the both of us. We will extend the barn. Do we have enough material for the project, or should I work to procure?
