Does anyone know what the following means?

This Danforth 5, we are Oscar Mike.
This is Danforth 6, we are Oscar Mike.

Time to put Grandmother to bed.

I believe I accidentally listened in on a Red Talon radio frequency. There was more talk of this “Grandmother” that I failed to write down, before I realized who I was listening to.

The only piece that somewhat makes sense to me is “to 206.” That’s a Seattle area code, so maybe they are heading to Seattle? Unclear as to who this “Grandmother” is, though. They were not talking about “Grandmother” with any fondness.

Regardless, thank you to Prescott for the radio lesson.

This explains where all those Red Talon helicopters were flying to on Thursday.

All of them to deal with Grandmother? Grandmother cannot be a single person or entity, in that case.

Before the outbreak, there was new research emerging that suggested bacteriophages are able to communicate by leaving molecular messaging for their kin in order to coordinate future infections.

Perhaps the virus that causes Black Fever is able to do something similar on a far grander scale.

I believe there have already been signs. Inexplicable dormancy in the first month of spread allowed for coordinated reanimation. That is odd. Perhaps with the right equipment I could determine the cause of such behavior on a molecular level, but I am not sure what good that would do us.

Isn’t knowing the first step to achieving something good?

Of course I would like to know. It does not feel like a feasible project right now, is all. Maybe in the winter when things are slower, we can scavenge for lab equipment.
