BASEBALL: Catastrophes v. Lumberjacks

CF VS. LL
It's Catastrophes 🐅 v. Lumberjacks 🪓 today. They end the 9th inning tied 8-8 and spend another 10 innings tied up before everyone decides to call it a day and go home. The final score is 18-18.

VOLUNTEER SPOTS

Welcome to Prescott's athletics field, where the Summit communities are once again holding their weekly baseball match!

Cal Nightengale brought a zombie-killing baseball bat to the game, complete with barbed wire wrapped around the barrel. It's put to a vote whether this is valid for play, with YES winning because of a) the Container Fort and b) all the Lundegaard children who think it's super cool.

The umpire (a Lundegaard parent) reminds everyone to keep their language clean, on account of there being minors on Lundegaard's team. This is a challenge for [Volunteer B], who has to be benched at least two times for cussing.

[Volunteer C]'s team is down three in the ninth inning, until they hit a three-run homer and tie the game 8-8. This triumph slowly becomes a tragedy as the game goes on.

During the 14th inning, [LL Volunteer D] pitches a ball that strikes Mud right in the head. There's a pause so [PFS Volunteer F] can tend to the injury, but Captains Dutch and Flume still refuse to end the game.

During the 19th inning, [Volunteer G] radios in to Prescott for help. Although they're told by dispatch that this doesn't qualify as an emergency, Jem Carmichael still walks out onto the field to urge everyone to call it a day. Please. Leave.

VIBE CHECK: Carter

Carter is here and at first also in good spirits. She’s being a twin pretty blatantly with Beau today, also in her jacket and a ponytail, so have fun with that. She has fun until the eighth inning. Then at the ninth, she’d love to go home. By the fourteenth, she’s blatantly texting in the dugout and completely checked out. She gets a second wind in inning sixteen because that’s when the sheer stubborn insanity kicks in. By the time Jem calls it in inning 18, big mixed feelings between gratitude and anger. Please let them just win.
