"In a heartbeat." Blythe smiles softly and puts an arm around Niko to help him up, all his earlier wooziness completely forgotten in a wave of concern and adrenaline. "And if we both go down, then we'll just make a new home right there."
Niko leans his head against Blythe's shoulder, feeling safe despite his weakened state. For someone utterly terrified of being vulnerable, this comes easier to him than he'd ever thought it would. Perhaps being woozy from blood loss is good for something after all!
"Thank you," He pauses for a beat, waiting until he has the confidence to add, "Love you."
"You too. I'll grow some new blood, just give me a minute," Niko says blearily, stumbling over toward the nearest cot. Once there, he carefully lowers himself onto it and scooches over, making himself as small as possible in order to give Blythe as much room as he can.
He pats the cot. "I won't tell Jesus," he promises.
Blythe joins him on the cot, which is too small for two middle-aged men to fit comfortably. But Blythe has been in some real cramped quarters for the last few years, he can manage.
"Good." He curls himself around Niko, burying his face in his hair. "He doesn't need to know everything we do."

"Love you," he says, and presses a kiss to his head. "Both with and without all your blood."
