I only think it is prudent that we have someone designated when Maggie is away, and everyone is aware of that protocol. We have heavy machinery, we have children. Things can turn very quickly.

You have first aid training, don't you?

You think I am suitable to respond to people in crisis.

You worked on the power lines. Doesn't that involve responding to emergencies?

Lundegaard.

Yes. By strapping myself to a pole in high winds. The only work-related emergency response I’ve partaken in was my own. I was the emergency.

But I am CPR and first aid certified. It was a requirement of my local union.

That was all I meant by it. I'd guessed you probably had. I didn't mean to pressure you, though.

I just cannot imagine a sick child, accustomed to Maggie, will be very thrilled if I am the one to make the initial house call.

What about Ophelia?

Probably for like 15 to 20 minutes at least.

I am not trying to discourage any of this, Roswell. Whatever you or Maggie think is best is best to me. I just want to make sure we have a backstop in place. This is also a way of supporting the decision.

If you want that backstop to be me, then I will be.

[...] Well, I'm not going to tell her not to go, and we built a new inn just to host visitors so I'm not going to tell anyone who wants to stay over they aren't welcome, either.

I don't like all this moving everybody around, though.

I don't know. It makes me anxious.

[…] Well, as you said, Maggie will only be a radio call away if needed. And many of us are connected through our Side Kicks, and can be recalled quickly.

It would be good to trade for more gas so we can transport people as needed, to bring them home. I am willing to broker a trade with my alcohol rations of the past several months. Perhaps Whitney will be amenable to that, along with some of our other goods and our labor with the wind farm.

Well, Emmett's going over there tomorrow to talk to them about their horses. Maybe he can ask around about if anyone would be interested in shadowing at the ranch for awhile. Since everyone's swapping around. Who wants to go live at the Container Fort?

I can do that.

I don't think I could live at the Container Fort, though.

To tell you the truth, those girls scare me.

I have a feeling their idea of being good gracious hosts is borderline lethal on its own but I'll report back.
