END OF THE WORLD PARTY

4 Days Until the Horde
Everyone in the Quad is deep in preparations for the massive horde coming from Danforth when word goes out from Whitney Field Depot: you're all invited to the Lobby tonight for one last(??) big shindig before we all die(??)!

At 7 PM, the theater troupe presents a one-hour episode of Supernatural, which any true fans will soon realize is Tegan's AO3 fanfic and not an actual episode. Brothers Sam and Dean Winchester (Evening O'Leary and Bo Bloodgood) team up with the angel Castiel (Odyssey) to investigate a series of ritualistic murders meant to kickstart the apocalypse. After Sam is captured by Lucifer (Blythe Ferry), Dean and Castiel must work alone together and discover that the murders are the work of John Winchester (Edgar de Leon), now evil and resurrected by demons. Featuring: Sexual tension! Casual blasphemy! Daddy issues!

From there, everyone's invited to return to the Lobby to drink, relax, make new friends and plan for the horde if you absolutely must do that.
Guidelines
Tonight's Theme: The apocalypse!! Again!!!

Hot Weapons: Firearms, ammo and explosives must be checked in at the gate and will be returned to you when you leave. Cold weapons (blades, bludgeons, crossbows) are fine to take inside.

Drinks: One free drink per hour, whether that's mystery punch (moonshine, water and whatever mixture of powdered drink flavors they have on hand, which today is blue-green in color) or non-alcoholic punch. Water is available any time. Other drinks are on the menu but must be traded for.

Cannabis: No free samples tonight, but it's in stock at the trading post.

Overnight: Four (4) beds are open in the guest quarters in the sublevel, going to whoever claims them first, and the rest can camp in the outfield. There are enough sleeping bags to accommodate everyone, but only six (6) small tents. Up to you where your character ends up tonight!
Locations
Check in if your character attending! Are they in a partying mood or here against their will? Dressed like it's 1999 or just wearing whatever they had on hand? How do they feel about the approaching horde?
The bar serves alcohol and water, and a few other options if you've got merit or items to trade. The trading post is open if you need to stock up on essentials. A table is set up with snacks, including a big charcuterie board with bread, cheese, dried fruit and meats, and honey.
Formerly the gift shop, now stocked with books and board games, and tables and chairs. There's also a pool table and a foosball table!
Step outside for some fresh air or a bit of quiet. The community garden is a nice place for a walk.
The stage is a cobbled together collection of wooden pallets in the parking lot, plus portable stairs that seem very rickety whenever an actor jumps on it. What did you think of the show?
If the one drink per hour limit isn't doing for you, you're invited to join the drinking contest. Whoever's still standing at the end gets 3 merits and a tiara!
Last call is at 2 AM. Are you headed back to your community, or staying overnight at Whitney?
Questions, comments, requests for scenes?

THE LOBBY: Beau & Carter

Sometime after the drinking contest, Beau ambles back to the bar for water and sees that her sister is still reading her book like a huuuge nerd. With quick, surprising grace, Beau sneaks up from behind and throws her arms around Carter's shoulders.

"I didn't win," she says into Carter's hair. They're not really touchy-feely—not since they were kids, anyway—and for a moment Beau just closes her eyes and lets herself enjoy her sister's closeness.

Carter's already ramrod-straight back tenses fully at the unexpected attack from behind. Not for long. There's really only one person in the universe allowed to do this, and she knows her sister's presence right away. This is only because of the drinking contest. Beau would almost never hug her sober.

Still. Carter smiles, folding her book down on the table and reaching up to squeeze her twin's arms. "I'm sorry." She says softly, commiserating without any hint of mocking, today. "Feeling okay?"

"I replaced my emotions with paint thinner," Beau says with a laugh. Her head dips, like it's too heavy to hold up on its own. She really should pull herself up, especially with so many Summit members watching, and silently gives herself until the count of ten. "I think Whitney's trying to kill us."

“I’m a little jealous.” She laughs, too, brushing Beau’s hair out of both their faces, tucking it carefully behind her sister’s ear. Carter’s shoulders are relaxed thanks to her identical weighted blanket which is strange, but it’s nice. Nothing to get used to.

“I have to say. They’d be doing a pretty good job at it. Making it a contest to kill yourselves quickest. Don’t let them win. Drink water.”

...8, 9, 10. Beau detaches from her sister, a bit reluctantly, but they're supposed to be the responsible ones of the Container Fort. She can't be hugging Carter like a sad sickly child in front of everyone.

She drops into the nearest stool and orders a water. "Wild they have so much booze they can just hand it out for free. Think of all the bombs they could make." Not a random topic change, with the cover of Carter's book facing her.

Carter touches her book, considering, her shoulders straightening back up. They're not just twins anymore. Even though they're reunited now, they can't sit here and talk about the party, the people here, the drinks. They were some of the most trusted members of a community and they're trying to pull off a war.

"So many. They'd be a good resource. If they were willing to participate. They might. Alcohol spreads fast, if it's on fire. Roasts a lot of bodies at once."

She realizes too late she's talking to her sister, who's drunk and liable to nausea, about viscerally disgusting things and silently winces to apologize for getting carried away here.

Unwillingly, Beau thinks of the first time they had to burn a lot of bodies—the thick smell, the sight of familiar hands turning black—and the sharp, unexpected pain of it knocks the breath from her lungs. Just for a beat, until Beau reminds herself they've seen worse. Hell, she's lost count of how many molotovs she's thrown since joining up with Dutch.

"Their second-in-command might. She runs their brewery too." Beau's fingers absently run over the nine X's tattooed to her forearm. "Worst case scenario. Could we still do it without them?"

Beau's touching the marks on her arm is what cues Carter in, brings back that same day in her mind's eye. It's removed, for her, from the smell or the sound. All she remembers is how her hands shook as she lit match after match. They're steady now, as she lays one without further comment on Beau's wrist, just for a moment.

"That's who I was thinking of. Yeah." She says, removing her hand to take a distracted sip of the juice thing she'd ordered hours ago, "She sounded open. But...worst case? Chemicals you can't drink are flammable, too. It'd take a lot. Of what we have. We'd have to be more strategic. In their building, and their placement. But. I think we could."

Her sister's touch is grounding. Alive Here. Beau doesn't say anything or even really acknowledge it, but Carter doesn't need her to.

"We don't need to do it all at once, either. Several teams at a time, distracting the horde from different directions..." Some people will get hurt, or worse. She lets herself imagine that, and moves on. "We get to safety, we regroup, we wait until the horde reaches the next location. Just keep chipping away at it like that. And Prescott had that idea to do alternates, to relieve teams."

"Slow and steady," she murmurs, "Methodical chaos." This would be dangerous. To them, and everyone they knew. Part of her feels guilty about planning, encouraging this, convincing others to join them the way she was tonight. She might be leading people to their deaths. But she can't shake the deep conviction this is their responsibility. To let it pass would be a monumental failure.

"While we rest, we build more weapons. Absolutely tag in alternate teams. I'd like to finish checking out routes and ambush points ahead of time, map where they might go. Give us an idea of what phase two looks like, even now."

This is the most she's said out loud in maybe a week, and she stops, looking up at Beau, slightly abashed. Her sister had come over here drunk and ostensibly happy. "We don't have to plan all this. This minute, though. We're at a party."
