End of the World Party

4 Days Until the Horde

Everyone in the Quad is deep in preparations for the massive horde coming from Danforth when word goes out from Whitney Field Depot: you're all invited to the Lobby tonight for one last(??) big shindig before we all die(??)!

At 7 PM, the theater troupe presents a one-hour episode of Supernatural, which any true fans will soon realize is Tegan's AO3 fanfic and not an actual episode. Brothers Sam and Dean Winchester (Evening O'Leary and Bo Bloodgood) team up with the angel Castiel (Odyssey) to investigate a series of ritualistic murders meant to kickstart the apocalypse. After Sam is captured by Lucifer (Blythe Ferry), Dean and Castiel must work alone together and discover that the murders are the work of John Winchester (Edgar de Leon), now evil and resurrected by demons. Featuring: Sexual tension! Casual blasphemy! Daddy issues!

From there, everyone's invited to return to the Lobby to drink, relax, make new friends and plan for the horde if you absolutely must do that.

Guidelines

⚾ Tonight's Theme: The apocalypse!! Again!!!

⚾ Hot Weapons: Firearms, ammo and explosives must be checked in at the gate and will be returned to you when you leave. Cold weapons (blades, bludgeons, crossbows) are fine to take inside.

⚾ Drinks: One free drink per hour, whether that's mystery punch (moonshine, water and whatever mixture of powdered drink flavors they have on hand, which today is blue-green in color) or non-alcoholic punch. Water is available any time. Other drinks are on the menu but must be traded for.

⚾ Cannabis: No free samples tonight, but it's in stock at the trading post.

⚾ Overnight: Four (4) beds are open in the guest quarters in the sublevel, going to whoever claims them first, and the rest can camp in the outfield. There are enough sleeping bags to accommodate everyone, but only six (6) small tents. Up to you where your character ends up tonight!

ARRIVALS

Check in if your character attending! Are they in a partying mood or here against their will? Dressed like it's 1999 or just wearing whatever they had on hand? How do they feel about the approaching horde?

THE LOBBY

The bar serves alcohol and water, and a few other options if you've got merit or items to trade. The trading post is open if you need to stock up on essentials. A table is set up with snacks, including a big charcuterie board with bread, cheese, dried fruit and meats, and honey.

THE REC ROOM

Formerly the gift shop, now stocked with books and board games, and tables and chairs. There's also a pool table and a foosball table!

THE OUTFIELD

Step outside for some fresh air or a bit of quiet. The community garden is a nice place for a walk.

✨ THEATER

The stage is a cobbled together collection of wooden pallets in the parking lot, plus portable stairs that seem very rickety whenever an actor jumps on it. What did you think of the show?

MONARCH OF THE APOCALYPSE

If the one drink per hour limit isn't doing for you, you're invited to join the drinking contest. Whoever's still standing at the end gets 3 merits and a tiara!

ARRIVALS: Zelda

Zelda arrived with her dad, because it's an Edgar de Leon party and because she recently learned that her father is going on a date with Blythe and she's very curious about who this guy is. She's also so happy she has an excuse to wear a cute but seasonally-inappropriate dress because so rarely is her vacation wardrobe ever actually practical. But, for once, it's almost practical. A win!

She's cheerful and plans to have a good time because she is not trying to think about impending doom and will almost certainly embarrass herself after she gets drunk to try and win herself a tiara.

ARRIVALS: Mud

Mud rolls up with Petra on his heels. Doesn't realize there's a party, just came for booze and followed the sounds of people inside. He's wearing a bathrobe and sweatpants and there's gum in his hair.

ARRIVALS: Blythe

Blythe is where he's meant to be: on the STAGE. Even if the role Tegan has presented him with is quite literally terrifying for a boy who grew up in a church afraid of being turned to salt for thinking about beards. He doesn't change out of his costume when he gets off stage, though, which means he's rocking a real bad boy leather jacket and slicked hair for the rest of the party, and every time he notices this he gets extremely self-conscious. Oh no, these don't go with his soft sweaters and pastels vibe!!

The horde has him kind of very wigged out, BUT if everyone else around him and in a position of authority thinks it's best to ignore the danger then... denial it is!!! Whoo!! How's everyone doing???

ARRIVALS: Niko

Niko arrived with Zelda! As per usual, he is not drinking (you never know when you might have to do emergency doctor/responder stuff!) so is available if anyone wants a DD back to Prescott at the end of the night (can't guarantee his driving won't make you barf, though).

He traded for a Lundegaard flannel shirt and some jeans, so he finally has a third outfit (the cool leather jacket stays, though).

The horde is freaking him out, so this just makes him feel like he has to be more cheerful! Keep up that morale!! Everything's fine!!!

ARRIVALS: Arlo

Arlo's only DAY SHIFT first-in-command for the time being, which means he gets to party. And that's great because he's kind of hanging on by a thread here; he probably seems like a guy trying to distract himself from the inevitable and failing miserably. Which is fine!!!

He's not wearing anything special, it's just a worn flannel and worn snapback and worn whatever, and it's only been a couple days since his first strike from Nat so he's still sporting a black eye. His split lip and little miscellaneous cuts and bruises are beginning to heal up, hooray!

He promises not to get into another fight in The Lobby.

ARRIVALS: Mara Kaufman

Mara is, seemingly, not very concerned about the giant horde of zombies inbound towards her at all. She is in an upbeat mood (by Mara standards) and starts doing shots nearly immediately.

Her outfit is Y2K inspired tonight, featuring a matching set of a racerback crop top and bell bottom pants both in a pastel blue shade of iridescent lame fabric. Her eyeshadow matches her outfit, and her hair has been straightened and crimped in places. There are bits of multicolored tinsel in her hair which stick up like cowlicks since she couldn't crimp them.

ARRIVALS: Evening

After the show, Evening goes from Sam (Winchester, tall boy of the Supernatural show, in her own flannel, jeans and someone's Carhartt) to Slutty Sam (same look but jacket's over her shoulder, black skirt, big boots.) She keeps the wig on for irony's sake, but loses it somewhere around her fourth drink. Please feel free to find that mop of hair. She's here to spy on some dads, make dumb mistakes, and put away all the forgotten props in their correct places while extremely wasted. One cannot be unorganized even at the end of the world.

ARRIVALS: Calliope

Calliope arrives with whoever else is coming from the Container Fort. While she's her normal lurky self, she did prepare for the occasion: she painted an old sweatshirt (and got a [1] [20]!) so that the front has

Edgar is wearing an old Carhartt jacket and some cornstarch in his hair and beard to give himself a salt-and-pepper older man look, and doesn't bother to change after stepping off the stage. Is he freaked out by the horde? Unbelievably. Is he showing that at all? No, darling, he's an actor.

He honestly feels out of his depth with all the plans and preparations, so instead he's doing what he does best: throwing a big stupid party to raise everyone's spirits!!!! He gets a little drunker than he should, and is flitting around all over the place trying to make sure that people are having a good time.

ARRIVALS: Dutch

Dutch, perhaps emboldened by Mud's presence, also brought her dog: a huge, mostly-black German Shepherd named Uzi. While he looks intimidating he is actually an incredibly sweet and goofy dog who highlights Dutch's natural anxious cheetah energy.

She's in her typical get-up of black jeans and a black leather jacket and has done her eyeliner and nailpolish fresh for the occasion.

ARRIVALS: John

John was at the Depot on trading business and then went to talk to Nat at the Lobby.

Before he knows it, he finds himself in the middle of a very bad Lana Del Rey song (Did You Know There's a Party at Whitney Depot, When the Horde Was Coming We Kept Partying, or (How Can I Party When) I Learned How to Make Conversation From the Movies). He is not dressed to impress, just in his ordinary, dark-colored clothing, including a Carhartt jacket. He's mortified to find he is dressed like the characters in Supernatural and never quite recovers his already-frail mojo after that.

ARRIVALS: Lola

Lola is wearing an enormous Fair Isle sweater over leggings. The sweater is genuinely gargantuan, gives her sweater paws, and smells strongly of chamomile oil, all of which Lola is oblivious to. She just wants to be comfy.

She moves about the party with forced cheer, preferring to stay near Billie, although she really enjoys Supernatural and doesn't seem to realize it's not a faithful reproduction of the actual show. "They were super in love, huh?" she'll remark about Destiel after the show is over. "That's great."

ARRIVALS: Jem Carmichael

Jem's here, but he's more overseeing the situation than he is partying. He's not super happy this is going on, but knows better than to try to stop people from partying. At least they're getting it out of their systems?

He takes it upon himself to make sure everyone is getting home safely, a job he is not very well suited for since he cannot drive at the moment. But he does match several people up with designated drivers or usher them into guest rooms/tents instead of letting them drive home.

ARRIVALS: Roswell

Roswell puts in an appearance due to FOMO and possibly also has three to four drinks due to FOMO but he spends most of his time at the Depot sitting quietly at the bar not bothering anybody else.

ARRIVALS: Beck

Beck's unveiling his personal Whitney Field Wildlife uniform at this party, which is a fox kigurumi paired with a trucker cap and his usual bomber jacket.

The vibes could be more pristine, to be honest. His face is default frowny as he thinks about all the preparations he needs to do on the farm tomorrow morning. But we're here to have fun! This is so fun. Aren't we just having fun?

ARRIVALS: Carter

Carter arrives with Beau after a pretty long day of checking out the horde and accompanying her to Prescott. She's especially unchill today, and hasn't let Beau be more than like 500 feet from her all day, and even that's a stretch. So she doesn't follow her around the party or anything, but she's not really socializing. She sits at the bar, sipping a mocktail, reading whatever book she's most recently found about How to Build Bombs in all black funeral clothes to at least be on theme.

ARRIVALS: Arwen

Arwen is... fine, at least on the outside. She doesn't appear any more or less bothered than usual, and spends most of the night making sure no one hurts themselves and tending to any small wounds that aren't handled by someone else. She does, however, partake of a single drink during the evening, an oddity for her. But it's all fine.

She's wearing a flowy skirt and a cable knit sweater that's been patched at the elbows with mismatched fabric, all in very drab colors.

THE LOBBY

THE LOBBY: Roswell & OPEN to multiple

Roswell spends his night nursing drinks at the bar. He is ostensibly trying to think of exit strategies for his own plan to turn the horde around, but he never gets very far into them before abandoning them.

THE REC ROOM

THE REC ROOM: Old Men at the End of the World (Blythe & Niko)

Even in his bad boy leather jacket, it doesn't take long for Blythe the Warm Weather Boy to seek out shelter from the setting sun. Don't you folks know it's November?? That's one of the cold months!!

He slips into the Rec Room while most of his compatriots are still throwing back drinks and finds a worn old chair in a back corner. It's quieter in here. Almost doesn't feel like a party or the end of the world, which might be an oversight on the theme. But it's nice to find a quiet place where no one's in the corner, whispering about the horde and how they're all going to die if they don't play this exactly right and it still seems like there's a lot of folks that will be in danger no matter the decision and—oh hey, look at that, he's thinking about it again.

With a deep breath, Blythe grabs the first book his fingers land on and pulls it out of the shelf. Animorphs. This will be great!! Seems like exactly his speed. He opens it up to the first page and then just stares at the words, uncomprehending.

Yeah, going great.

THE OUTFIELD

THE OUTFIELD: Beck & Arwen

Seeking a bit of peace and quiet to sip at her singular cup of mystery punch and smoke an herbal cigarette, Arwen has wandered out to the outfield, her eyes straying skyward as she takes a slow drink. She's not far enough in that she's feeling it, but she's sure she will soon - her tolerance is shot. But the evening feels calm, despite the potential impending disaster, and for once she's not horribly worried about it.

"Christ," she exhales slowly.

✨ THEATER: Herding Theater Cats

"Oh! Don't go too far!" Blythe scampers out of the Lobby with a water in hand, toward the rickety wooden stage they've dragged all over the Pacific Northwest with them. Most of his fellow troupe members are drunk, with the rest of them on their way there, and every time he takes his eyes off one then someone else is clambering on the stairs and hopping on the stage and just taking off for the other side of the stadium.

"Or—just drink some water!" he calls out after Bo, already well out of earshot. "I guess this one's for you, then." He hands the water over to the nearest trouper and plops down exhausted on the unsteady steps.

HOW IT WORKS:

• The Whitney brewery has created a particularly potent and pungent experimental batch, and they need it gone.
• For every shot your character has, I'll roll a d50 and add it to your drinking total.
• Low tolerance will add +5 to each of your rolls.
• The winner will be whoever gets the closest to 200 without going over. If you go over 200, you're considered too drunk to continue.
• Winner gets a whopping 3 merits and a prom tiara!
