END OF THE WORLD PARTY
Locations
THE LOBBY: Edgar & Nat
She's smirking at Edgar as she reaches past him for the jar of honey mead they'd tried the one time, which may have actually inspired how Nat has since made the antiseptic. It gets poured slowly into the mixture of two other equally lesser liquors. A respectable King's cup.
"It's all perfectly safe," she reassures. "No one is going to die at an End of the World party, though it would make you legendary and literal."
THE LOBBY: Edgar & Nat
He looks from Nat to the liquor mixture. "I guess I should try that."
THE LOBBY: Edgar & Nat
"And I wouldn't worry. You won't be fired for giving the Quad a needed outlet for a ho--myriad of zombies," she adds, watching him with clinical curiosity as he takes the shot. "This is community support at work."
THE LOBBY: Edgar & Nat
He coughs, just once. "Oh, wow." Edgar tilts his head, mulling it over. "But you know... it's complex."
THE LOBBY: Edgar & Nat
"Hm," she gestures for him to pass her the half empty bottle. "I think it needs more mead. We should also make sure water strategically appears out of thin air if this is about to go how we think it will." There's a pause as she pours the remainder of the sour honey liquor into the mixture, and she eyes him. "Are you good?"
THE LOBBY: Edgar & Nat
"When am I not?" It's too early in the evening for him to show doubts now, even with Nat, whom he trusts too much, given the short length of their acquaintance. But life-and-death stakes have a way of accelerating these things. "Like you said, people need an outlet. And maybe it's better for everyone to see each other face to face again instead of hashing it out over the bulletin board."
THE LOBBY: Edgar & Nat
"That's...insightful," she says, "good that you thought of that." Because Nat honestly hadn't factored in the need for people to see eachother in the midst of impending and potentially life ending crisis. Human connection. And perhaps even unintentionally, Edgar had reminded the communities that this wasn't a decision to fall back to faction thinking on, because they were all in this together now.
She offers her friend a small smile as she settles back against the opposite storage shelf. "We'll be fine."
THE LOBBY: Edgar & Nat
"Of course we'll be fine. People as beautiful as us were never meant to be trampled by a rabblement of undead." He smiles back at her, comfortable in his ridiculousness. "Are you good?"
THE LOBBY: Edgar & Nat
"I'm always fine," she states simply, which has historically, and to the unease of others, invariably been correct. Edgar is perhaps one of the few people to know otherwise. In this case though, she appears to be more thoughtful than concerned about the looming threat shambling their way towards them. She does love a problem to solve.
