Thunderstorm

A thunderstorm is rolling into the area. The residents of the Quad prepare to weather out the storm, as zombie activity becomes erratic from the thunderclaps and lightning.

• Friday Oct. 19: the community is asked to come and help the Container Fort prepare for the inclement weather.

• Saturday Oct. 20: Blythe Ferry, Courtney Slaughter and Natalie Stokes are trapped overnight at Lundegaard during the storm.

Whitney Field

Muddy fields and high speed winds keep everyone inside.

Container Fort.

Close quarters as everyone shelters in their shipping containers.

Prescott Fire Station.

Round up the horses and draw those big garage shutters.

Lundegaard Lumber.

Get all the animals inside and hope the crops aren't too damaged.

CONTAINER FORT: Carter & Duke

The cold rain pounding in her ears and streaming down the back of her neck is soothing. Carter pushes her head out just a little more, almost in danger, but is quickly called back to earth by a familiar voice. She grins a little. She'd never be sad to hear one of the kids. Keeps her priorities in place.

"Yeah. Camp shower water pressure sucks." She shakes out her hair, which does actually feel at least very soaked. "What are you doing out here?"

"Dude it sucks soooo hard," Duke agrees, setting down a bucket and making his way over to the girl. He's stupid, but he's not that stupid - he knows something more than hair washing is up. But, he's not going to press. Sometimes people like to keep things to themselves, and anyway he likes to stay on the girls' good sides.

"Gettin' a bit of extra water for stuff later. Like I know we'll have a shitton after this but never can go wrong with more fresh water." He looks up, squinting into the rain.

"Rain shower is always the best thing, anyway. Love me some fuckin' nature."

"Smart." She concedes, "I'd been wondering about the river, after this. If it'd be safe. We should get more buckets."

But for all her moving around today, Carter does not run to get more buckets immediately. She could do that in a little while. She takes a moment to lean her (now sopping) head against the metal of the container, and looking up, pleasantly dizzy watching a million drops come down. "Never got that. I was an indoor kid. But I hear you're a pro at storms?"

Duke beams immediately at being called smart, his attention drawn back to his companion. He wipes some of the rain from his eyes as he thinks.

"River could go either way, dependin' on how much rain and what it washes into it, you know? But we can go find more buckets when you're done with your hair washin'." His tone is a little cheeky, but still he doesn't try to get any more information out of Carter about her state of mind.

"We got all kinds of shit in Louisiana. Hurricanes and all that. And I was definitely an outdoor kid."
